Hey Woofa’s,
Who can believe we’ve reached The Last Day Of The Year????
How fast did 2019 go?
I find it really difficult right now to be excited for New Year’s Eve celebrations when our Country is burning!
Tonight people will be sleeping in cars or boats on the water! They have been evacuated, lost their homes or their holiday places are in the dangerous fire zones.
Our local Council has cancelled the 9pm and 12pm fireworks display because basically given our high temperatures, our dry climate and winds that are starting to howl, it’s too dangerous.
However, the City of Sydney are still going ahead with their famous displays, not without causing uproar from some!
As I type this our evening News is broadcasting the amount of fires that are still burning around our Country and it’s devastating.
More people have lost lives and many have lost homes!! Our fire brigades all over Australia are exhausted and there doesn’t seem to be an end in sight.
Our fires have been burning now for almost 2 months!!!! Where we live in suburbia there have been many days where we have woken to smoke and falling black leaves and ash!!! The scary thing is we are unsure of when we are going to see rain again!!!
I don’t say this to depress anyone I say this because this is our reality right now and yes its scary, devastating and horrific but no matter what , as a Country, we always pull together.
No matter what our Government is doing or not doing, the PEOPLE of this Country come together for one another.
That is the message that we should take with us into 2020!
Life is going to throw all sorts of good and not so good situations at us it’s inevitable!!!! How we respond to those situations and the support we have going through them should be enough.
So from our home to yours Happy New Year for 2020!
Hey Woofa’s, Well another year is close to being over….! Who can…
