Hey Woofa’s,
Take some deep breaths, you’re doing well.
You can do this, you can get through this strange time we all seem to find ourselves in.
Dean and I are lucky, we are still able to work at this time.
We understand many are at home, either working and/or teaching their kids from home.
I thought if parents get stuck on something different to teach their kids, I’d supply them with some lessons they can learn about their dog/s.
In our previous post – Important Lessons Your Kids Can Learn About Their Dog While In Isolation – Part 1 – we covered where our dogs come from, what breed of dog you have, what you notice about your dog, what characteristics your dog has and much more. How did you go?
Then we had some discussion questions.
Today we’re going to look at Dog Anatomy, some basics that are good for all kids to know about dogs.
After much searching I finally found a 1/2 decent diagram of Dog Anatomy from Enchanted Learning.
I apologise, I tried to get this in print form but for some reason it wouldn’t let me (I’ll keep working on this, unless someone can shed some light in the comments below)!!
Depending on what technology you have will depend on whether or not you can print this : (
Once they have studied the first diagram, and then tried to fill out as much as they can on the second diagram (without looking at the answers) ask your kids to find the same areas on your dog/s.
Try it so they can look at the answers and point to the same spot on your dog/s.
Then do so without looking.
You can keep trying until they can get as many as they can correct.
If this is too annoying head on over to Enchanted Learning – click here, they are a great website where you can actually click on your breed of dog and learn specific features of that breed.
They also have many, many other topics and worksheets available on many different topics if you get stuck on what to teach your kids.
Hang in there guys, you’re doing really well, don’t be too hard on yourselves.
Everyone is adjusting to the change, remember you’re not in this alone, we’re ALL in this together.
That I need to work on my own tech knowledge so I can replace the diagrams with printable ones!!!
Also it helps our kids to learn about the basic anatomy of their dog.
We’re in a very strange time at the moment, many are stuck at home and kids are going a bit nuts (as are their parents) so if we can keep them as occupied as possible all is good.
Learning about their own dogs can help.
IN THE COMMENTS BELOW – BILLY WOULD LIKE TO KNOW – IF YOU LEARNT ANYTHING ABOUT YOUR DOG’S ANATOMY!
Okay so most of us know that a wagging tail means a happy dog, right…
