Hey Woofa’s,
For Billy’s Birthday on Tuesday, we watched Think Like A Dog!
We wanted to watch a Dog movie for Billy so he could relate to it.
However, I’m usually very hesitant in watching Dog movies because generally there’s always an extremely sad part of the movie that I don’t deal with very well.
You know the part I’m talking about, it’s the scene where the dog is no longer of this world : (
This scene brings up all the emotions of all the past dogs that have been in my life and have left. And that’s a lot given that I’m a dog groomer who grows very attached to her grooming dogs as well.
The emotion of this scene usually pushes me over the edge, therefore I try to avoid these movies.
I even have a sign in my Dog Grooming Salon that says
That sums it up pretty much for me, when it comes to all movies, not just dog movies.
Anyway, reading the blurb about – Think Like A Dog – I thought I’d be pretty safe……………..and I was : )
Let me tell you about this great movie……..
I think anyone with a dog needs to see this movie.
It’s a great, sweet funny movie that carries a simple yet weighted message that we all need to take on board.
Josh Duhamel plays the dad – Lukas Reed
Megan Fox plays the mum – Ellen Reed
Gabriel Bateman plays the son – Oliver Reed
Todd Stashwick’s voice is of the dog – Henry (the labradoodle)
Kunal Nayyar plays Mr Mills
Neo Hou plays Oliver’s Best Friend – Xiao
There are also dogs of all shapes and sizes that have parts in the movie as well – so cute!
Oliver is a science and technology prodigy and has invented many contraptions for Henry. One of which is for Henry who only has to bark at Oliver’s bedroom door and the doggy door opens for Henry to go in.
Oliver presents his latest invention in front of his school classmates and his hero Mr Mills. This invention reads minds, so someone puts the headset on, thinks something and the computer reads it.
It does work, however a school bully makes his friend who is part of the demonstration say that it didn’t work.
Oliver is devastated because he knows it does work and goes home to talk with his best friend in China Xiao.
They devise a plan to test the invention and yes you guessed it they test it on Henry, the dog.
Xiao also taps into the Government Satellite to help with the power and yes you guessed it, it works.
So while Henry has his collar and headset on Oliver can hear everything he thinks.
Needless to say this is where the fun begins…………….
Oliver also finds out his parents are talking about getting a divorce and selling the family home, so he and Henry set about making plans so this does not happen.
Mr Mills is also on the hunt for Oliver and Xiao to share their technology with him…………….this doesn’t go well.
The Government people are on the hunt for who tapped into their Satellite technology.
And on top of all that Oliver has a crush on a girl at school.
Add in all the dogs that help along the way and you’ve got a great funny light hearted family fun movie.
Well ‘Think Like A Dog’ is the title of the movie but it’s also about handling life like a dog.
Henry says he has the secret to being happy –
other messages – great minds share a perfect alignment of mind body and spirit.
We loved the movie and I think everyone should THINK LIKE A DOG!
The movie is fun, warm hearted and has a weighted message that we all need to take on board in this world we live in.
Go watch it and enjoy it.
