Us Aussies like to celebrate Father’s Day on the first Sunday in September.

I believe, it’s a day to celebrate all dads, even Dog Dads!!

Billy will be waking up with his Dog Dad Dean and sharing some breakfast with him, before we head out to spoil our own dads for lunch.

This year Billy wanted to write his own message to his Dog Dad.

HAPPY DOG FATHER’S DAY DAD DEAN!

Hi Daddy Dean,

Just wanted to say, for a while it was just my hooman mum and I and as much as I love her, dude I’m glad you’re here now too.

At first I would push in the middle of you two when you’d sit on the lounge together, but that was just to let you know she belongs to me.

Then I started to like you and I’d let you know this by sitting on top of both of you, on the lounge.

I also want to tell you Daddy Dean that the left side of the bed was MY SIDE first, so when you try to push me into the middle, I’m okay with it because I’m closer to hooman mum.  But when you try to make me sleep at the end of the bed sometimes I don’t want to.

I like to be close to you and put my head on your pillow so I can stare at you or lick your face while you’re sleeping.  You kinda don’t let me do that when you’re awake!!!

Man what’s with telling me off for making noises out of my nose while I’m sleeping when hooman mum tells you off for doing the same thing?

Daddy Dean I really enjoy it when you take me on drives in the car.   I love it even more when you take me to the place with the BIG YELLOW M and buy me food.  I really love sticking my nose out the window and taking in all the smells as we drive along.

Don’t tell hooman mum but you throw the ball much father for me than she does, and I love running fast.  Although, hooman mum doesn’t like it when we do this in the house, she yells at us, but you still do it anyway.

Oh and thanks for buying me new balls when I lose them and can’t find them.   I know hooman mum appreciates it when you distract me from barking at energetic dogs that come in the salon, because I want to play with them and she’s trying to work.

I know I’m a big help to you when you’re fixing things around the house and I really enjoy helping you paint too.

Even though I make you chase me around the house, hooman mum likes it when I’m clean and smell nice, so thanks for giving me a bath when she can’t.  I like having the ball in my mouth too while you wash me.

Thanks also for feeding me when hooman mum is working late I appreciate it.  But dude I’d love you even more if you gave me more cheese.

I know you already sneak some to me when hooman mum isn’t looking but I’d love you to give me MORE CHEESE!!!  I won’t tell I promise.

Even though it’s important for me to be calm when I go walking, thanks for running with me to help get my anxiety energy all out.

Daddy Dean I just really want to say I love you for accepting me as part of my hooman mum’s pack.  I’ll protect you too!!
