Hey Woofa’s,
Wow another year has flown by?
We’re in such an uncertain and strange time at the moment with the Coronoavirus a.k.a (Covid-19) epidemic, I was saying how it seems like it’s something out of a movie, not something that’s happening in real life. But it’s REAL and can be quite overwhelming and scary.
I wasn’t going to post about Billy’s birthday this year because of everything that’s going on but then I thought WHY NOT, in such a time as this we NEED some happy and uplifting moments we can share with each other.
I hope you, your family and fur babies are doing well, we are all in this together and we’ll all come through this much stronger and together.
Billy is going well, he still loves his creature comforts. He loves laying all over the lounges (that I have covered in blankets) and on cooler days he loves being covered by blankets (the featured picture).
We got a fire place put in as well for the winter months and boy does he love that.
This year we took him back to training, no it’s never too late to train your dog. AND yes an older dog CAN learn new things.
We have a current cat crisis, cats seem to like sitting on the side fence and antagonising Billy which has caused him to become a little reactive.
The trainer said that Billy’s brain has been on cruise mode and he was never bothered by much at all. But the cats teasing him has opened his reactive brain so now he sees them and wants to get them.
I have spoken to our neighbour about it but they still let their cat roam, he is not desexed so other female cats come to him in the front yard which is right near our front window. And it causes Billy stress. We’ve counted 7 so far!!!!
We can’t control what the cat or the neighbour doesn’t do, we can only do what we can for Billy.
So off to training we went. He’s doing well, but because of the virus we’ve had to stop for a while.
We’re working on getting his brain back to non responsive i.e. not caring about the cats.
Billy also loves helping me study, I put this stool in the sun out the back so I could study and I came back and he had claimed it. I started an on-line course and this was the folder that came with it, he was interested in helping too.
Billy has his own pan for his mince and dry food, when it’s too cold to eat outside. I put Dean’s beanie on Billy, why not?
Billy went for a visit to Dean’s parents place and got cuddles off his Nanna. Billy also likes helping Dean in the salon and waits with me in the mornings by the heater until the first customer arrives.
Happy Birthday Billy, we love you to bits and can’t wait for many more years to spend with you.
Billy turns 8 today!
With the state of the world right now, it’s time to remember the things we are grateful for.
The one thing we can count on is the love of our dogs!!
Hug them, love them, have fun with them.
IN THE COMMENTS BELOW – BILLY WOULD LIKE – YOU TO SHARE PICS OF YOUR DOGS!
Cheers
