This week I decided to do a Book Review on DOGS GONE BAD by Jack Russell!!

DOGS GONE BAD was given to me as a Christmas Present by one of my lovely Henabel’s customers.  As an avid reader I usually have quite a few books going at the same time.

This one caught my attention, well because it has a dog on the front of it!!!  What can I say, I’m a sucker for a cute puppy dog face??

I think this book would make a great add on gift for a Dog Lover, you could use it as a coffee table book and it’d be fun to read it with the kids.

THE AUTHOR – Jack Russell

When I read the name of the Author, I thought , ‘No Way, no way is that his name!’

Then I thought, ‘Well if it is really his name, how convenient. lol’

I’ve googled searched this and can’t find a picture or anything of the Author Jack Russell who wrote DOGS GONE BAD!!!

Either it’s a play on names and Amber Books Pty Ltd are having a joke on everyone, or it’s a very appropriate name for someone who has written a book about dogs.

THE REVIEW

This book is 96 pages in length and has roughly 45 stories all about dogs.  Each story only takes up a small part of a page and has a quirky saying that goes with it.

The stories are accompanied by a cute dog picture on the left hand page that may not be the exact dog from the story, but the picture is themed for the story.

It’s very easy to read and sometimes has you wondering as to how real some of them actually are!!

For instance, the woman in China who had an accident because she was teaching her dog to drive!!!!!  Or the Russian ice-hockey player who had to miss three weeks of international games because his dog ate his passport!!!  Or the Mixed Spaniel breed who won Butcher’s Fittest Dog contest in Britain, and now demands to be walked 7 times a day!!!!

The stories are from around the world and most of them are basically Dog Shaming adventures by mischievous dogs.  Although, some include owners who do strange things as well!!!

What surprised me are some of the things that dogs eat, and they are things that just shouldn’t be ingested!!!

For instance, whole shoes, actual money coins, magnets, gardening gloves, crazy amounts of socks, just to name a few!!!

There’s more stories from a dog finding a grenade while out walking with his owner, to a dog who won’t leave the house without his sunnies and a dog who accidentally set the house on fire, how?  Well you’ll have to read it.

Some of the stories will have you giggling, sympathising or just plain old shaking your head asking WTF???

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

It’s a cute little book and a very quick read.

It means that it’s a great add on gift idea for the Dog Lover in your life.
