Hey Woofa’s,
I’ll admit this year I wasn’t going to Camden Paws In The Park until Dean mentioned that Dr Harry Cooper was going to be there!!!!
I was all happy to sleep in and have a pj’s day and then Dean said the Magic Words.
In case you don’t know who Dr Harry Cooper is he’s a household name here in Australia, at age 75 he’s still going strong. He has been on countless TV shows over the years helping millions of people with their pet issues.
He is currently on Better Homes and Gardens on a Friday night sharing is wealth of knowledge. Dr Harry Cooper has also written books about Pets and how we can help them.
So my point about Dr Harry is that I’m a BIG FAN and I couldn’t miss the opportunity to at least see him and hear him talk in person about DOGS!!!
As a dog lover all the dog products and seeing so many different dogs all in the one area was a bonus too.
My friend Shirley and I said it was like we were in a jewellery shop only the Dogs were our Bling, oh there’s one, oh look at that one, oh I must pat that one (after asking the owner of course), was all we said all day.
Dogs are definitely our Kryptonite!!
It is a Sunday Fun Day, where people can bring their dogs and have a blast. Last year roughly 3,000 people attended bringing 1,000 dogs to join in the fun.
Camden Council organise this great day that brings together everyone and everything to do with dogs.
Dogs of all shapes and sizes come, some are judged on their agility, their look, their size, the tricks they can do and much more.
It’s a great day for dog lovers to show off their dog and for the dogs to get out and socialise.
The day starts with a 30-40 minute walk that all the dogs and owners can participate in.
Then after the walk you and your fur baby can go and check out the 50 stalls all dedicated to our dogs, from clothing, to food, collars, leads, ties, bow ties, toys, beds, bowls, leads, food, lots of food and much more.
There were also pet memorabilia stalls, dog rescue stalls, pet minding stalls you name it they had it.
They had competitions, including dancing dogs, tallest dog, scruffiest dog, best trick and so much more.
Also available were free vet checks.
As mentioned my favourite was Dr Harry’s attendance and listening to his insights into our pets and their behaviours.
It starts at 9am and goes until 1pm and it’s go go go for all dog lovers.

While Billy didn’t attend the day with us, he certainly benefited from it because he received many home made dog treats, a ghost tie, a new collar and did I mention soooooo many dog treats.
IN THE COMMENTS BELOW – BILLY WOULD LIKE TO KNOW – IF YOUR LOCAL COUNCIL HAS A FUN DOG LOVERS DAY?
Cheers
